i) TECHNOLOGY EVALUATION :
As a member of team, evaluated following
technologies for selection of process licensor for Ammonia Plants;
- Fuel oil based partial oxidation technology
for Ammonia Plant for Nangal Expansion, Haldia and Sindri Modernisation
Projects. - Gas based steam reforming route
for Ammonia Plants of RCF Thal & KRIBHCO,
Hazira. - CO2 removal technology on behalf of
Govt. of India for the Indian Fertilizer Projects. Technology covered were
MDEA of BASF, Germany, Selexol of Norton USA, Glycine of GV Italy,
Catacarb of USA, Benfield of USA, CARSOL of Belgium.
ii) PROCESS HANDLED FOR PROCESS & DETAIL
ENGINEERING: AMMONIA PLANT - Gas Generation by
partial oxidation of coal, fuel oil, Naphtha, LSHS. - Steam Reforming
process for Naphtha, Natural Gas and Associated Gas etc. - CO Shift-
Conversion with high temperature, medium temperature and low temperature
operation. - CO2 removal by physical, chemical and physico- chemical
process like rectisol wash, Selexol wash, MEA, Amine Guard, Hot Potash, GV
glycine, Benfield, MDEA etc. - Condensate stripping for
re-utilization of process condensate. - Methanation / Nitrogen
wash for final purification of Synthesis gas. - Synthesis Gas
Compression Synthesis for Ammonia Production and storage.
UREA PLANT
- Urea Synthesis, purification, concentration, prilling etc. - Waste
water treatment.
UTILITIES SERVICES
- Steam Generation, Steam Balance and
Steam Networking. - Cooling Tower and Cooling water balance and
distribution. - DM water, process water and waste water treatment.

Evaluation of Process technology system and processes including
design engineering for above process was carried out under my supervision
to meet requirement of specific plant of various owners which included
FCI, NFL, IFFCO, BACL, NFCL, RCF for fertilizer plants, ONGC for Oil
& Gas sector, IOCL & BPCL for Refinery Petroleum Products etc.
8. Supervision Assistance during Commissioning of designed plants.
9. Safety and Energy audit of Fertilizer plant.

Foreign Assignments: I had the oppurtunity of working with Lurgi in
Frankfurt and Koppers in Essen, Germany in 1970, 1972, 1973 and with
Uhde Germany in Dortmund for coal and LSHS based Ammonia plants. Worked
with Cryo plant for Air separation plant of NFL Nangal. Worked for TV tube
projects BEL in Cornigs Office in France. For selection of CO2 removal
technology, visited operating plants of Technology Supplier to assess
their Plant performance in Netherlands, Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy, Germany
in 1989. For fixing up the design conditions as team leader for BACL
Fertilizer project Shahjahanpur, India. I visited Haldor Topsoe at
Copenhagen for Reforming, Purification synthesis and to Glammarco
Vetrocoke office at Venice for CO2 removal process technology.

Project & Feasibility report: - Project report for offsite
facilities for Krishak Bharti Coop. Ltd for their Hazira and Gorakhpur
Expansion Project. - Prepared decommissioning and commissioning
feasibility report for liquid Ammonia handling system for Gujarat Guardian
Ltd. - Prepared Technoeconomic/ Feasibility report for CO2 recovery
from reformer flue gases by different chemical processes for increasing
the capacity of NFL Vijaipur Fertilizer Project.
12. UNIDO
Sponsored Project: I had rendered services to Azot Sanayi, Ankaras,
Turkey for establishment of their design office in 1982. I also imparted
training for senior engineers of Azot Sanayi at Kutaya for Ammonia
Technology in 1983.
13. Participation in Seminars: Presented
papers at Seminar at Institute of Engineers India, National Seminar at
RCF, Institute of Chemical Engineers etc. Conducted number of technical
training programs, presented papers at the National seminars conducted by
Gramya Research Analysis Institute,
